Re: Boring Indie

i think it sounds like a band who read an article on the Jesus & Mary Chain and though 'yeh, we can do that. how hard can it be?' and then forgot to get someone who could sing Which wouldn't preclude them from actually being the Jesus and Mary Chain. Their not very goodness does though. Again got t...

Re: The Football

Aye, it's all rather joyless and depressing isn't it? It's not just England either, some of the other countries' lads don't seem to be enjoying themselves much.

The womens' world cup starts next week, maybe that'll be more fun.

Re: Manu Chao

Been listening to Mano Negra a bit now, found a best of a while back but not listened to it til now. Got to agree with Dennis's ranking system there.

Although as Mano Negra's more diverse there are some rather rum moments. The rap-metal-country version of "Rock Island Line" is pretty fucking weird.

Hope they pass each other by without meeting, though. Wimbledon fans mostly don't want to play BFS because it would mean acknowledging their existence.
Aye. Plus it would mean Bastard Franchise are on the way down.

Re: The Football

There are five Premier League games today. One is between the bottom two and could see one of the teams being relegated today. Another involves a club who have dropped right into the relegation shake-up. A third will see the winner most likely take a European place. The other two are meaningless ma...

Re: The Football

I've not heard a whisper about Cardiff having a 3rd party registered player, maybe it's Swansea? Nope, most definitely Cardiff... also in the Granuiad http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/may/05/cardiff-city-qpr-third-party-ownership There's also a story there that Cardiff City and Swansea City ...

Re: The Football

Apparently Cardiff City, who would most likely be promoted automatically if QPR were to be docked points, also have or had a third party owned player, but they're not facing any sanctions because the Welsh FA doesn't have the third party ownership rule.

Fucking weird business this.
