Can Team Indietracks make that the new festival slogan, please?

Owen played this at the SheffPop acoustic day and it's bloody lovely. You should all listen to it!

Re: The Sunbathers + Born With Stripes Nttm, 7th Sept - FREE

We had a great time in Nottnum last night. Born With Stripes were ace. Thanks to Nick for putting us on and to Sam for sorting it all out. Also if anyone fancies it, we're playing our slightly-less-acoustic set in Leicester on Monday supporting Emma Pollock. (Woohoo!) http://www.facebook.com/events/...

Re: Nottingham

Hello Nottinghams. I just wondered if any of you (apart from Sam) are coming down to the Chameleon on Friday for the Sunbathers/Jonathan Beckett/Born With Stripes gig. We really don't get up to Nottingham enough (in spite of me living about 40 minutes away) and it would be nice to catch up with thos...

“Cassettes—people love them. They want them. Cassettes are cuddly. They are Star Wars while CDs are Battlestar Galactica (MP3s, of course, are The Matrix). They come in colors; you can collect them and trade them. Hang them on your wall. Use them as Valentines. You don’t have a cassette player? Go ...

Re: Chickfactor London shows, 17-18 November

I am officially devastated that I will almost certainly be missing this. My funding runs out at the end of September and the thesis and I will be locked in a fight to the death in mid-November that may or may not result in me beating it into submission in time for Christmas. In the meantime I have t...

Ooh, I think the archive I'm working with contributed some footage to this (rummages on google). YES, they did! There's some more information about the extensive archive footage (not just MACE's) at http://macearchive.wordpress.com/2010/05/12/new-music-documentary-for-birmingham-popular-music-archiv...

Re: non-white members of indiepop bands

I think there's a danger of taking a far too UK/Euro/Western-centric view of this. There are tonnes of bands over in South East Asia making amazing pop records, so I don't think it's right just to say that there are no (or very few) 'non-white' people making indiepop. If, on the other hand, this is ...

'Smuggle plot tomatoes', 'blast boy' and 'canoe wife'. There's a name for that sort of thing: http://stancarey.wordpress.com/2012/06/27/smuggle-plot-tomatoes-and-other-distant-compounds/ I couldn't help noticing that the yahoo news feed was particularly rich in these today. Re: The Sheffield Pop Weekender 25/08-27/08

We probably can't make Sunday as we may have another gig, but we're (hopefully) bringing 3 people with us on Monday. Which probably means we need 3 weekend tickets, but to let you know that you'll have three extra spaces on Sunday (in case it's a sell out). I think that's right. Does that sound righ...

I've been twitchy and unsettled all day and I've finally realised that it's because I haven't contributed to this thread. Maybe if I do then I can stop messing about and get on with something else! So... Friday was all about catching up with people. Not that the bands weren't worth listening to, the...

Please can you ask Go Sailor if they can carry on playing until Friday afternoon, as that's when I'll be arriving in Brighton? Cheers!
