Re: Indietracks announcements: 24-26 July 2015

We're so chuffed to be asked to play some Sunday night tunes for you all! Come and see us in the Marquee, we're nice people. Plus it's Kelly's birthday so we'll be having a right ol' knees up.

Re: Things I am listening to now then

As we've been working our way through Twin Peaks (a little behind the times, I know...) there's been a fair amount of Julee Cruise being played here:

Re: Belle and Sebastian

I can't get into Perfect Couples - it feels like a bit of a letdown after that astonishing 1-2-3 of Cat With The Cream, Enter Sylvia Plath and The Everlasting Muse. It's a complete Jens Lekman pastiche too. Maybe it'll sound better in the context of a gig. Will find out tonight I suppose... :)

For Sale!2 tix for Belle and Sebastian, Leeds Town Hall 19/5

What it says on the tin - we've got 2 extra tickets for Tuesday's gig as our chums can't make it now.
£25 each or 2 for £50.
Come see them with us! Or buy the tickets and ignore us for the rest of the night! We don't mind!

Taaaa!

Re: Records of 2015

The Bjork album is very good, yes. Stonemilker is the best thing she's done in years.

There are a couple of exciting things in the pipeline from two Leeds bands over the next few months... ;)

Re: Albums you wish existed that don't or maybe can't

I wonder just how bad John Lennon's 80's output would have been.

I wish R.E.M. would have recorded an album with Brian Eno. Not sure why.

The Cat With The Cream is a phenomenal song, I'm just listening to it over and over again. That string section is just glorious.

I cannot recommend this highly enough. Yeah, we may have got lucky with the weather (AMAZING) and the fact that it was our wedding anniversary (nothing like sharing a bottle of champagne whilst dangling your feet in a fjord in bright sunshine) but the utterly awesome bands and the location and the t...
