Re: Indie Pop Football

I don't know if he listens to indiepop but QPR midfielder Ákos Buzsáky looks like he could be in Northern Portrait or Cats On Fire, in this photo, anyway. Admirable hair and coat.

Richard - What can you tell me about Alejandro Bedoya? Rangers have just signed him.

Re: Fitba' - The Scottish Football Thread

As a number of drunk Englishmen sang at me when I was in London wearing my Rangers strip, circa 1990: there's only one Terry Butcher.

Re: Fitba' - The Scottish Football Thread

It's mainly so that Scottish teams don't have to play European qualifiers during their pre-season against teams who are part of the way through their season and therefore fitter.

Re: And eeeeeeeeeeeee! some more

I'm starting to get my first twinges of pre-Indietits excitement. It's going to be ace, isn't it?

I'm just hoping that my old car can make the 800-mile round trip unscatched.

I'm very much looking forward to the Heavenly opening on Thursday night. It's such a good lineup of Scottish pop.

Our night next Monday should be good an' aw!

Re: The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

I was at the Glasgow show and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I knew you thought it was a bad show but it didn't seem like that to me. What did you think was bad about it?

Re: Beat Happening & Calvin Johnson

How come this video of Beat Happening playing Teenage Caveman only has 100 views? Calvin on 12-string, what's not to like?

Short for Alexander, I think. He played for Aberdeen for a good while but I couldn't tell you much about him I'm afraid.

Re: The Lucksmiths

I've only cottoned on to the Lucksmiths. I've been tortured by the melody of Now I'm even further away going round in my head for a few years, not knowing who it was by, just some Indiepop band I'd heard and failed to catch the name of. Then I recognised his voice from the Scared to Dance Fortuna P...

Re: The Hermit Crabs

Really looking forward to being on first and then actually getting to relax and see all the other bands and especially Math & Physics Club. We haven't really decided the running order yet but if you're okay with going on first then that's fine with us. Is it meant to be a surprise that Mel's going ...

Are you suggesting that Sam should pay you to pitch his tent?

I just got the album yesterday and I'm giving it a spin now - sounds brilliant! Jobby-related name or not, this is a cracking band.

Re: Hi-Fi Hardware - Turntables, Valves & Tapes

After years of giving my records a cursory wipe with the cleaning cloth that came with my glasses I've decided I should probably get one of those carbon fibre brushes.

Uncle Ants (or anyone else) - can you recommend one?

I really liked Seville. It's a good mix of stuff to do/see but not overly hectic. I went in April (I think) and it was hot without being overbearing.

Re: Who's camping?

I think they put the price up on Indietracks weekend. Bless them. I seem to recall that they did last year, but this was very clearly stated on their site. As long as you let someone know you're fleecing them in advance it's okay, after all. I know, I know, I don't have to camp. But when the altern...
