Re: Indietracks discos

Can anyone remember the song that was played in the shed on Sunday immediately before the one with the conga line? A bunch of us went crazy to it out by the beach, but none of us had any idea what it was.

Re: Indietracks Clashfinder

I've now added the train timetables to the clashfinder. Hopefully the symbols I've used make some kind of sense and show up okay on everyone's computers. I tried using words but they didn't fit very well into the tiny boxes.

Re: getting the train

The 'Events' page suggests there's a special timetable for Indietracks but I can't find it on the site. I emailed them last week to ask about this and they said a timetable should be available from Monday 22nd. Still can't find anything, although to be honest I'm not entirely sure I'm looking in th...

Re: Indiepop Singalong! @ Indietracks - Saturday 2pm, train

The New Teller by Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers? It's got hand claps and a key change and everything. The last time I saw Misty's Big Adventure they handed out lyric sheets for We Wish You A Wombling Merry Christmas and insisted that everyone sing along. It was an unmitigated success, altho...

Re: Indietracks Clashfinder

I hear that The Just Joans will be performing in the merch tent on Saturday afternoon. Eeeeeeeeeeee, etc..

If anyone with inside information knows when, or about any other merch appearances for that matter, let me know and I'll pencil them in on the clashfinder.

Only if you're willing to climb through a hedge and then sneak about hoping the campsite staff don't catch you.

Re: last.fm

Is it just a simple algorithm to do that for any band then? The Last.FM API returns MusicBrainz IDs for each artist, so you can just go and ask MusicBrainz for a location for each, one by one. MusicBrainz recently got a new feature to allow people to specify more-granular locations for artists, so ...

Re: last.fm

I don't know if this already exists somewhere on the Internet (probably, since everything does) but I think it would be terrific if they had a way to filter the "Similar Artists" results. For instance, you pull up the page on Comet Gain. You click the link for Similar Artists. Then you filter by co...

Re: Indietracks Clashfinder

Now the schedule's out I've populated this year's clashfinder. I'll polish it up a bit when I get a chance -- I have a half-baked plan to get more photos by cadging them from Last.FM -- but the schedule's all in place.

Re: Birmingham

Now, I might be barking up the wrong tree, here, and I wouldn't like to get anyone's hopes up prematurely, but I couldn't help but notice that the Facebook page of a certain West Bromwich-based music festival has recently "liked" M.J. Hibbet and Allo Darlin'. Just sayin'. Although, scrolling down t...

Re: Birmingham

Hello folks. I have a bit of a thorny problem for you all. I was hoping to get my back holiday weekend started with some kind of Thursday-evening entertainment, preferably in the Edgbaston area of the city. I like indie-pop and parks, and ideally would be able to combine the two in some manner. The ...
