Re: Exeter (and Devon)

For anyone down this way, please don't forget my gig at Exeter, Tiggas on Saturday...Phil Wilson (with my new band), together with National Pastime and Matthew Stead...and it's completely FREE! Is there anybody out there? THIS Saturday? Oh dear Phil. We're, like, here, 48 weekends out of the 52, an...

Re: Exeter Goes Pop!

Oh and the flyer is brilliant, except for Tilly and the Wall :-) I like Tilly and the Wall. Some of the songs, anyway. Plus I sort of met them once and they seemed like nice people. And that's all that matters! But, if you make it all the way to Exeter one day, I might even do you a favour and not ...

Re: Exeter Goes Pop!

wonkfolk? WONKFOLK? Yes. My feelings exactly. And Martijn's, here . (When he wrote this, Google gave exactly zero results for wonkfolk; the next day it gave one, the post itself. I found this pretty cool.) But, rest assured, there will be no wonkfolk this time. It's a shame you can't come, stranger...

Re: Help! (with InDesign and Photoshop and stuff like that)

Ooh, it's you! I feel so much better about having a million and one questions coming up now. (For example, why doesn't it put each new object on a new layer?) How about I pay you back in stories? I suspected it had something to do with paths but I still couldn't figure it out. I haven't tried it out...

Re: Help! (with InDesign and Photoshop and stuff like that)

So, a little update, since I'm sure you all can't wait to find out how I'm getting on with this project: I did download Scribus, and I looked at it for a while, and then I decided to make the effort to acquire InDesign, which turned out to be remarkably easy. So now I have that. I thought it would b...

Re: Pete Green!

Hee! Such a small world. Who's that cute boy then? Yagos. I was young. And slightly silly. It's a cool story, although there's not much to it. I'm quite sure I've told it to Christos, in Battersea station probably. Or Denmark Hill station. Or the bit in between, I can't remember. (Don't you love An...

I am ridiculously excited about it. No, it doesn't quite make sense, but it makes me happy, so whatever.

And yes, I thought it must have been you with the jokes and the haircut.

Re: Pete Green!

Oh, and funnily enough, the only reason I was at that gig is that a Greek boy, who turned out to be friends with Christos and Marianthi, told me to go. (I thought he was dead cute, and so I did go.) It's a small world!

Re: Pete Green!

Heee, that was a great night! And a good thing that I got to play on that bill, cos it was only a couple of months before we split up. I don't remember much, except a) I was impressed by someone's haircut, b) someone made some funny jokes, and c) it was someone's granny's birthday, and he had to bu...

Re: a layer of chips fanzine

Mine (ours) came 27 seconds ago. Thanks to the joys of being on half-term, I have already read Pete's interview, and it kind of made my morning. There was nothing wrong with my morning to begin with, but reading that made me smile and laugh and feel happier -- so it's only fair to say it made my mo...

Why don't we just make one? It sounds like a lot of fun. Any geeks want to do the technical part?

Re: semi-permanent residency issues

Useful fact: the campus of Exeter probably has the best views of the country. That might be a slight exaggeration. Seeing as there are a lot of campuses in the country and Martijn has hardly been to any. Judging by his love and loyalty towards it, you'd think he was born in Exeter, you would. But y...

Yeah, I meant to ask that too. Also to say: remember, the South West is very, very, very nice! Despite what people might tell you!

Longer version???!! I think I really need to hear that. Where have they released it do you know? The short version is so perfect though that any more seconds might ruin it a tiny bit... You know what, I've been thinking about this since yesterday, and although I am certain there is a longer version...

Re: I like short songs

I love 'Scooby Driver', though I recall there was a longer version of it too, and it was also very good. 'Run run run', is, of course, brilliant, but I think my favourite short Pipas song has to be 'St Pancras'.

Re: sewing

My mum bought me a sewing machine this weekend! I'm sure there was a hidden message in that kind gesture but it was really nice spending an evening with her showing me the basics and how to thread it and all that. I'm going to make bibs for all my friends' babies now. Awww. I want my mum to buy me ...
