Yes! Is it any good?
It's actually vintage Ace Of Base, albeit with two new female vocalists. Best album since the classic Happy Nation (or The Sign in US)!

Sex & Violins - The Jake Shillingford & My Life Story Thread

I'm sure you already all know about the gig of 2012, but just in case. My Life Story are playing The Golden Mile at Shepherds Bush Empire on Saturday 3rd March. I happen to have 2 spare tickets if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands. Only issue is that one is for the upper level seating...

Still looks like there may be one more to be announced? Sunday night Church headliner? Anyway, so far this looks like the schedule I'll be following: Friday - Pocketbooks, Jonny, Suburban Kids with Biblical Names, Scared To Dance Saturday - Just Handshakes (We're British), Guatafan, The Garlands, Bu...

The Sounds

I just received their fourth album from Amazon, and decided it was about time they had a thread for everyone to talk about how brilliant they are! I first came across The Sounds whilst browsing the shelves of what HMV recommends several years ago, and being drawn to a particular album cover. Having ...

Chooon! And this must be one of those you ripped from CD as it's very difficult to get hold of I believe (I think a friend told me that). They were like the Scooch of the Mid-90s.

Re: Your IndieTracks 2011 Wishlist

With the possibility that annoucements may be on the horizon (note I don't know that for certain, but based on last year, it seems likely news will be coming soon), I thought it was time for another recap on what people want to see so far. Here's the list of bands with 4 nominations or more: 1. Jens...

Re: C87 - a follow up to C86

1987 is a bit early for me. I would have been 8! It was a few years before I really discovered indie music, mainly via Hup-era The Wonder Stuff and The New Model Army. So unsuprisingly perhaps my 1987 mix would sound something like this (with Erasure and T'Pau probably being the artists that I would...

Re: Make a little noise.

This is my new favorite game. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Put your mp3 player on shuffle. 2. For each question, press the "next" button to get your answer. 3. Write that song name down as the answer. IF SOMEONE SAYS "IS THIS OKAY?" YOU SAY: Dead souls. (I’m totally goth like that.) WHAT WOULD BEST DESCRIBE YO...

20. Sparks - All You Ever Think About Is Sex Ah the Mael Brothers. I am still building my collection of Sparks material, although I have not really enjoyed their newer stuff. I do however love Propoganda and Kimono My House, not to mention Gratituitious Sax and Plagiarism. You what?? Their last few...

1. Bob Marley & The Wailers - Is This Love? No real story around this, but being a Brummie, reggae (particularly bad pop-reggae ala UB40) is in my blood! This is a nice mellow reggae song, with Marley's distinctive voice and gospel-style backing! 2. Mama Cass - It's Getting Better One of my favouri...

What albums are you looking forward to in 2011?

I have been doing a bit of searching to try and work out what music is being released in 2011, and have found quite a bit, but mainly the more mainstream stuff. So I was wondering what are you looking forward to in 2011 in terms of new albums or singles? Here's my list from what I have found so far ...

A quick update on what's happening with Jake Shillingford right now in case anyone interested! Apparrently no plans for another MLS reunion (booo!), and Jake has gone on record as saying he's hung up his vocal chords for a while to concentrate on genre-bending song-writing under the moniker of Chopp...

Best of 2010 - powered by Last.FM

Ok So I thought since they were so many of these already in existence, I might add one more! This time the idea is that you look at your Last.fm stats (or whichever similar scrobbling site you might use) and share what your top artists and tracks of 2010 are based on number of plays! Of course doing...

Re: Best Of 2010

I have an end of year double-CD. I seem to have been swayed into some really dancey stuff this year so the second CD is full of that and the first is more typical, if still quite poppy. Anyway, here it is: CD ONE: The Divine Comedy - "At The Indie Disco" Everybody Was In The French Resistance...NOW!...
