Re: The Musicians wanted thread!

And a regular plea from me too. Drummer, pianist and bassist needed. In no particular disorder.

Re: (You can't take that stuff to) Canada

I am visiting Toronto in May, and very much looking forward to it. I don't think I need to ask much seeing as there are veggie eating options listed above (thanks). I think it'll be a few of the day times when I'll be on my lonesome exploring, so I might ask about record shops and nice places to vis...

Re: Kick the Bucket

Final bump (although I doubt it will make much difference). Bands, comedy AND a magician. Limited supply of free mulled wine (get there early, or at all). Christmas crackers, fun, doesn't involve steam trains or pocketbooks. But hey, go crazy! It's less than 10 minutes from the tube and will be all ...

Re: Kick the Bucket

No worries. I won't be at your gig for the same reason. Maybe we need a giant planner so we can schedule gigs apart.

Kick the Bucket

This is it, the final curtain, the last ever Pass the Bucket before it morphs into something bigger and better. And what better way to go out than with a big Christmas extravaganza, eh? Well, maybe with 3 comedy acts, 2 bands, a magician and a compere. And I'll bring Christmas crackers again, and se...

You can also find "Hand in Hand Grenade" on Doing it for the Kids 08, and it's one of my favourite tracks on there.

Re: The Musicians wanted thread!

Snowy would like a drummer. And a bassist and a pianist. I didn't think it was right for my Santa list (I've already asked for everlasting life and a new biro *fingers crossed*). Influences blah blah blah. Visit our myspaz page: http://www.myspace.com/snowyband

Re: answer the question, dammit

well,a t a push, you could get mobile broadband. I had virgin, fuckers sent me a red bill (without sending me any other bill first), then cut me off two days later. Got mobile broadband (with laptop for £40) today, and now can't access faecebook as it can't prove I'm 18. Funny, it had no problem wh...

Re: The Give it Ups play Pass the Bucket

I am gonna try and come along - but it's not likely - got a lot on this coming week. Not to worry, Trev. We shady svengalis are ships that pass in the night. Sadly I can't come to your Pains of being pure at heart gig in December as it's the Christmas PtB. But one day we will all be in the same pla...

Re: The Give it Ups play Pass the Bucket

Last bump for this. Although I doubt it will make a difference. Trains run quite nearby (although not steam), and pocketbooks once played somewhere nearby, if that makes a difference.

Re: The Give it Ups play Pass the Bucket

Apologies, I forgot to explain the principle. It's free entry, we take a bucket round after each act and you donate what you think it's worth. Like a big indoor busk.

The Give it Ups play Pass the Bucket

The next Pass the Bucket is on Wednesday October 29th, at the Cavendish Arms in Stockwell (nearest tube Stockwell, and remember it's on the Northern line as well as the Victoria!). The bill is as follows: Daniel Hoy (comedy) Paul Case (poetry) Timothy Lock (comedy) The Give It Ups (Music) Steve Mcle...

Re: Luke Haines

I am a huge fan of the Auteurs, love the Baader-Meinhof album, and quite like his solo work and BBR. But he has become such a ludicrous parody of himself, and is in many ways worse than the people he (endlessly) slates. With no little sadness I feel that I have grown out of liking him. Nowhere near ...

That's not as late as I was worried it might be, so we should be there. Luckily the Victoria line shouldn't be a big problem.

Any idea when Stars of Ovulation are due on, Nathan? We have childcare/babysitter deadlines to think about.

Cheers.

Pass the Bucket- Wednesday 24th September

Is it a popshow? Is it a club? Don't fence me in, man! It's free to get in, we make a collection for each act, you pay what you think it's worth. How can you possibly say no? The bill for Wednesday the 24th September is: Comedy from- Rachel Anderson Nick Pettigrew and Del Strain Music from- Mr Westo...

Re: The Musicians wanted thread!

Stars of Aviation are looking for a bass player, as our Tim is leaving for a new life in Barcelona. It would help if you're in Brighton or London, or have easy access to both. See http://www.myspace.com/starsofaviation" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for songs. Multi-instrumentalists...
