Re: The Radio Dept.

I think we're finally getting close to another Radio Dept. album after years of silence and techno (This Repeated Sodomy is killer song though, shame it's digital only), they've been playing some new songs live. Here's video of one https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J0OawBSRRaM Looks like there's also un...

Re: Is indiepop racist?

If I'm completely honest to myself, I do find it hard to imagine black people making indie pop about tea and heartbreaks and stuff. I guess I'm more racist than I thought, but for some reason music is the one area where I feel race somehow does a role in your taste. We have the whole "white men can'...

Re: Camera Obscura

Finally got mine..
One bit (not sure which track it was, looking at tracklist, on William's Heart maybe) sounded like it was ripped from Keane though.. Anyway.. I think it's their best album so far... there's no "French Navy", but as a whole..

Re: Wild Nothing

New EP comes out 13th May: Empty Estate is the follow-up EP to the critically acclaimed Nocturne , which received several year-end accolades including album of the year in Under The Radar and iTunes. The 7-song EP was recorded in Brooklyn at Gary s Electric by Al Carlson in January. The love of drea...

I think it's awesome record, but yes B side is way better, if you think it's dull listen to that only.

Re: Things I am listening to now then

I've been listening to new LP by Amor de Días a lot. There's more "hit songs" than on their first one which I haven't listened that much since I bought it, but now I'm slowly becoming a fan. Almost no one seems to own their new album according to rateyourmusic or discogs though :( (ok it just came o...

Re: Northern Portrait

Just received my vinyl, it looks great (one of the alltime best-looking records I got) and sounds great too. Aaand there was list of upcoming Matineé releases, and one of them is full-length CD from Northern Portrait! Yes! Usually I don't like owning EP's and singles that overlap with LP's. I'm not ...

Re: my bloody valentine

I refuse to listen anything on computer (I want shoegazing not screengazing) so in my world the album isn't out yet. Can't wait to hear it though, just placed my preorder.. What happened to that Loveless (vinyl) reissue that was coming out in 2012 by the way? Did it go back to Kevin Shields' secret ...

Re: Favourite 2012 Albums

If I were to buy one album from one new band, what should it be?
Or in other words, who's the band that's like Allo Darlin' in 2010 or Help Stamp Out Loneliness in 2011 that everyone loves, is there one?

I'm a huge Acid House Kings fan so it was great to finally get to hear Advantage Acid House Kings and Mondays Are Like Tuesdays and Tuesdays Are Like Wednesdays. I had only heard one song from each before (on Labrador 100: Complete History of Popular Music). Turns out they're bit more twee than the ...

Re: what book are you reading?

Ready Player One was the funniest book I've read in ages. I got it signed by Ernest Cline too (great guy!). Almost essential reading for any geek (or former geek, who grew up in 80's I guess). Smooth plot and most importantly about billion 80's game/roleplaying game/music (don't get excited, no ind...

Re: haruki murakami

Murakami might win Nobel this year! http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2012/aug/23/haruki-murakami-nobel-prize-literature It feels little weird. Great, but weird. In my opinion 95% of the Nobel laureates write extremely boring books, no offense.. Has anyone else read 1Q84? I thought it was just ok when...
