Re: Who's in which band?

I've put up a new album on Bandcamp if anyone is vaguely interested.

http://captainpolaroid.bandcamp.com/alb ... -nostalgia

It's not very well made I'm afraid but it's the best I could manage.

Re: Pulp/Jarvis Cocker

Managed to get tickets for Wireless late last night. I hope the atmosphere is better than the Blur gigs there. The one I went to was horrible, just full of beer-filled leery lads.

Alphabetty was pretty cool and I liked Lithium Records too.

Corin's album is generally good but trails off a little in places. Definitely worth a listen though.

Crumbs! Totally forgot about it! I hope they've got it in HMV tomorrow... seems unlikely though.

* Amazon now says it's out on the 13th. HMV says 20th.

That's not bad, I was worried she'd go down a folky direction. I don't love it but the album might be a good-un.

6th according to Amazon. Only 10 tracks this time - very short!

The ArtbreakHeartshop

They have the potential to be my newfavouriteband if their album is as good as the new single 'Breathe Bullets Which Taste Like Pure Fruit'. They remind me of a female fronted Urusei Yatsura/Guided by Voices/My Bloody Valentine/Sonic Youth/someotherlessobviousbands. http://www.myspace.com/theartbrea...

Re: Darren Hayman

I haven't got into Essex Arms anywhere near as much as Pram Town yet (and I suspect that I won't) but I think this is more a case of Pram Town being a work of genius rather than Essex Arms being a disappointment as such - I think Pram Town is the best thing Darren's ever done. Essex Arms seems a bi...

Strange, I've heard nothing but positivity regarding their live shows but when I saw them in Birmingham last year they seemed bored and disinterested. Was anyone else from Anorak there?

Got that from Stereogum several weeks ago, ace.

I love The Thermals, even if they keep writing the same song over and over!

Re: Who's in which band?

Were you on the Pavement compilation? I liked you on that so I've downloaded yr EP. I'm in a really alright band called Japanese Sleepers . I was indeed, wasn't very happy with my cover but I'm glad you liked it! You guys really are alright. I'd have invited you to do a Pavement cover if I'd known ...

Re: Who's in which band?

Sorry to bump this old thread but I couldn't find a more recent similar one and thought it'd be a bit arrogant to start a new one just for my own purposes.

I make badly performed bedroom indiepop as Captain Polaroid. Got a new EP at http://beat-nostalgia.blogspot.com if anyone is interested.
