Re: The Football

And why is Real Madrid called 'Real' abroad when Real is a completely different team? ... and there are seven 'Real' teams in Primera? Why are Man U called "Manchester" abroad when Man City exist? Why do Man U get called United despite there being loads of other Uniteds? They are the most well know...

Re: broadband idiocy

If you have Sky fibre you could've got BT fibre or various others. They all run from the same infrastructure (run by BT Openreach, which is seperate from BT's phone and ISP service, to insure "neutrality".)

Re: Game of Thrones

I've been reading the books after finally catching up on the series at the end of last year. I think season one is pretty faithful to the book, but season 2 diverges substantially more. I think a lot of it is down to not having the budget to show all the castles, cities and massive hosts of men that...

Re: When did you first get on the internet?

I was online from 1993 at uni. I set up what I believe to be the second ever Pet Shop Boys fan page on the web, the only remaining evidence of which that I can find is in this 1994 signature from a usenet group ... | Robert McDermott | The Pet Shop Boys' style is defined, in | | ____ ____ ____ | Ten...

NO! I can't have missed it. I thought the most likely question would be: name any Spanish artists who had a top 40 hit. I don't remember an Iglesias question, and I have watched every single episode. *cough* I did think that "Top 40 hits by Julio and Enrique Iglesias" would be an obvious question f...

Re: North Yorkshire/Northumberland coast

Just got back from a trip to Northumberland myself. It was basically a re-run of a school trip I took back in 1985. We stopped at Hadrian's Wall on the way up, stayed the night in Seahouses and visited the Farne Islands next day before coming back. http://www.flickr.com/photos/funnyunc/sets/72157629...

"Teak Trading Corporation Ltd" of the British Virgin Islands, who bought it off previous owner Joseph Adler in 2005 after Bates took charge. Basically no-one knows who they are. Nothing shady about that at all, then.

Re: The Football

Grayson did a great job scraping together a team with free transfers, loans and players that came up through the academy. Who knows where the millions we received for Delph and Howson have gone, not to mention the gate receipts from all the big cup matches from the past few years. If they've gone an...

Oh look. Ken Bates has waited until he has an excuse for not giving any funds to a new manager before sacking Grayson. What an absolute cunt.

We were extra-careful all the time we were in Barcelona in 2005 and then my wife got her wallet/purse thingy stolen on the train to the airport.
