I'm very sorry I posted non indiepop albums in my list. I don't like to put music into little boxes.

Shrag - Canines
Fantasy Rainbow - Bos Taurus
Allo Darlin' Europe
Seapony - Falling
Klaus and Kinski - Herreros y Fatigas
Taken By Trees - Other Worlds
Evans the Death - Evans the Death
DIIV - Oshin
Mark Stewart - The Politics of Envy
Frankie Rose - Interstellar

Bit of a struggle to find 10 albums this year - lots of good EP's/mini albums that could have been incuded (Gum / Papa Topo / Sun Stains / Fire Island Pines / Martha).

Sorry if anyone is upset I've included non indiepop albums.

Top album for me by a mile was Canines by Shrag, I just don't get bored of it, it's got the lot. Earlier this year Islet's full debut was on non stop, I knew they were great live but surprised how listenable their songs were on record. Tender Trap's album also got a lot of plays for me.

If I were to buy one album from one new band, what should it be?
Or in other words, who's the band that's like Allo Darlin' in 2010 or Help Stamp Out Loneliness in 2011 that everyone loves, is there one?

Martha. But they've only released 1 5 song EP!

I would prefer music not to be put into little boxes too!

It is nice to read about what folk here enjoyed out of the 2012 releases, irrespective of genre - without having to pigeon-hole anything.

The new Ace Bushy Striptease album.

I like their other albums, but the last two have felt like these great leaps. The old stuff felt catchy and fun and great, the new stuff feels kind of important.

Me too - they're both absolute corkers.

I do. It makes it way more convenient to talk about, especially if your tastes are extremely specific. If we have shared interests, we should at least agree on the meaning of the words that describe them. It makes conversations more productive.

Anyway that Garlands LP is dope!!

Me too. It stops the disc from getting all scratched.

(sorry)

I don't know how you manage to sort out bands. Sometimes I find it really hard.
But I'm not really into productive conversations about music, to be fair. :P

Why do I have to see moaning posted on here of all places?

There's a 'What is Indiepop' thread if you want to start an argument...

you are right. i don't know why i still read this forum. i try not to, honestly...i come here every two weeks or so and i always regret it. i'll try to stop.

this is a clique-ish platform that some use for self-promotion and their friend's promotion and their admirers applaud them and suck em up. there's hardly any sort of informative content.

someone should ban me.

what sort of informative content are you looking for exactly?

also, this is a forum, if you want to participate you can, nobody's preventing you (are they?), you want to see 'informative content' on here then add some yourself, others may follow (especially if it clarifies what you mean by 'informative content')

rolling in on your metaphorical bike and grumbling is all very well but it's a little passive aggressive blaming your grumblies on everybody here

be the change you want to see in the world

you can do it, fattyonabike!

well, that's us told

generally i think it's a forum where people (some but not all of whom already know each other) post about stuff they like, and other people get excited about it. or they don't. or they talk about corrie.

anyway, what are your favourite albums of 2012? (indiepop or no)
