I shall detail why VLC is the BEST tomorrow...but, right now, I need some help...

Youtube have changed their website yet again, so, there is a new Youtube.lua file to make it work with VLC.

I've got it, but, being the disorganised person that I am, don't know where to put it...I went to over-write the version on my hard drive, only to find that I have 14 youtube.lua files on my hard drive, all in different locations.

Anyone know where it's suposed to go?

I have no clue what you're talking about with the lua file but yeah, VLC is pretty great. I am a Mac user and I remember five years or so ago when it really wasn't all that. At the time, Media Player Classic was arguably the best media player on PC, but VLC was the only cross-platform option, and it really wasn't great. 1080p support was shaky and all that. But with improved hardware and new versions of VLC, it seems like all the crappiness has gone and now, I just have a good player that can do everything.

THe Youtube.lua file is what makes Youtube videos play in VLC Media player.

A little while ago, youtube changed the way their videos played back.

This meant that the old Youtube.lua file no longer worked.

Fortunately, with VLC being open source, it wasn't that long before an updated file was available. I have the updated version, but, as said already, don't know where to put it so that VLC can see it.

My hard drive can be described as 'semi-organised chaos' at best...with files of allsorts all over the place. Generally, if I can't find something I want straight away, I use the search in the windows start menu....which, admittedly, isn't the best way to have a hard drive when it comes to things like this...

I would check the VLC forums.
